Open-plan design

An open space looks generous, but it has a price: noise, kitchen smells, lack of privacy. Success depends on how you define zones without walls and how you link the materials between them.

Defining zones without walls

Zones can be separated by furniture (island, bookcase, sofa), by changes in flooring or ceiling and by differentiated lighting. We choose the solution according to how much you want to see those in another zone.

Ventilation and noise

A good hood, doors to utility spaces and sound-absorbing materials (rug, curtains, panels) make the difference between a pleasant open plan and a tiring one.

What we settle for an open plan

  • How we separate the kitchen from the seating area
  • A hood and ventilation sufficient for daily cooking
  • The same or complementary materials in all zones
  • Zoned lighting on separate circuits
  • Acoustic solutions: rug, curtains, panels

A bright, generous space

Zones linked visually, without feeling crowded.

Clear zones

Each function has its place, even without walls.

Everyday comfort

Smells and noise are controlled by design.

Frequently asked questions

Can the wall between the kitchen and living room be removed?

It depends on the building’s structure and utilities. We analyse it on the plan, and structural changes require authorised specialists and, where applicable, approvals.

Is open plan suitable for families with children?

It can be, if more secluded zones are kept for quiet and work. We discuss it according to your routine.
